Launch Night is both an educational opportunity to learn networking and promotion and also a no-holes-barred opportunity for social entrepreneurs to pitch their venture to potential investors and partners in the community. And it’s a whole lot of fun!

The Curriculum

As entrepreneurs ourselves, we know what our fellow innovators need – and have proved as much through the dozens of ventures launched through PresenTense each year. The fellowship provides practical tools to launch seedstage ventures, including:

• Developing a business plan
• Entrepreneurial skills and logic
• Pitching the venture
• Recognizing value proposition and defining the product
• Business strategy and risks
• Building business models
• Budgeting for fundraising
• Communications

Elements of the Fellowship

• Cluster Hotseat: Meetings based on Harvard Business School’s Hotseat methodology enabling fellows to practice and refine their pitch in a supportive and constructive environment.
• Training Seminars: In-person training seminars developed by PresenTense.
• Skillbuilding Sessions: Taught by leading practitioners in the host community.

Logistics and Event Planning

Assist Coordinator with preparation for and running of the Global Laboratory. Manage speaker schedule, assist in ensuring workshops and lectures run smoothly, and help plan the Final Launch night. Oversee and develop materials, ensure completion of necessary components to the program, and assist the Coordinator in every aspect of the program.

Skills: Organized, previous experience planning events or programs, personable, work under pressure, hard working, takes initiative. Conversational Hebrew a plus.

Tech and Media

Help develop existing media component to feature social enterprise across various channels, build and improve existing media (website, video streams). Develop website content and assist in building new modules and features for the website. Film Global Lab sessions, upload and format movies and audio, create an online media library, and oversee the Flickr account.

Skills: Fluent in social network platforms, comfortable with multimedia tools (video, audio, photography), generally tech-savvy. Experience in Web apps and programming languages PHP, Drupal and Flash are a plus.

On July 23, 2009, PresenTense's sixteen pioneers will debut their ventures to the gathered community.

Launch Night, where each fellow will briefly pitch their venture and then participate in a floor exhibition, brings to life the fellows' new ventures in the context of a gathered community of investors, volunteers, mentors, coaches, supporters, and fellow entrepreneurs. The fellows recognize that you and other members of the community are the key to their success. It is through your supportive energy and passion that they will be able to change Israel, the Jewish People, and the world.

Launch Night will take place on Thursday, July 23, 19:00-21:00 at the Bible Lands Museum Jerusalem (Museum Row, 25 Granot St.).
